About Alamo Metal Buildings

Alamo Metal Buildings is operated by Compass Camper LLC, an Oregon-registered marketing company doing business as Compass Lead Group. We are not a metal building construction contractor and do not perform metal building construction work.

We operate this website to connect business owners, property owners, ranchers and homeowners across seven San Antonio-area counties with independent local metal building contractors. A request sent through the form reaches one independent local contractor who works that county and can look at the site and the plan.

What this site requires of a contractor who takes a request

• Current general liability insurance.
• A written, itemized estimate before any work begins.
• A written contract with a change-order process.
• Registration of the project with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, with accessibility plan review and inspection, on any project with an estimated construction cost of $50,000 or more that is not a private residence.

These are terms in the agreement with the contractor, not a background check this site runs for you. Ask the contractor for the certificate of insurance before work starts.

None of those is a license, because Texas licenses no home builder and no general contractor at the state level. This site never says a contractor holds one. Electricians, air conditioning contractors and plumbers hold their own separate state licenses.

What this site publishes

Two things, and the first is why the site exists. One, the permit path for a metal building across Bexar, Medina, Wilson, Atascosa, Guadalupe, Karnes and Frio counties: who permits the building, the TDLR registration line, the Edwards Aquifer plan, stormwater coverage by acreage, each read at the agency's own page with the date on it. No contractor site in these seven counties publishes that lane. Two, an introduction to an independent local contractor once you want the building priced.

That lane runs in order on building a metal building in San Antonio, and every county and city answer this site has read is in one table on the seven-county permit directory. The front page indexes both: metal building contractors in San Antonio. What this site is paid, and who pays it, is on how this site makes money.

There are no testimonials here, no photographs of a team, no building counts and no awards. None of them would be true on a site this young, and a sourced date is worth more than an invented number anyway.
