About Alamo Metal Buildings

Alamo Metal Buildings belongs to Compass Camper LLC, which trades as Compass Lead Group and is registered in Oregon as a marketing company. It builds nothing: no metal building construction, no slab, no steel.

The pages cover seven San Antonio-area counties as subjects: their permits, their ground and their site work. When a business owner, property owner, rancher or homeowner wants a building priced, the request is handed to one independent metal building contractor, whose call it is which jobs to accept.

Where a request goes

Every request sent from this site lands with Suburban Buildings, LLC, an independent builder whose office is at 635 State Hwy 46 E, Suite 202, Boerne, TX 78006, and no other builder. Compass Camper LLC and Suburban Buildings, LLC set that route in writing; their agreement, signed September 15, 2026, covers each Compass site that sends requests their way. They are the one builder this site partners with.

On file from them: a current general liability insurance certificate, good through March 1, 2027, with a $2,000,000 general aggregate limit and a $1,000,000 per-occurrence limit, written by Scottsdale Insurance Company. Their Better Business Bureau listing, checked September 6, 2026, shows them accredited, rated A+, with no complaints on file. No state license exists for general contractors in Texas, so there is none to look up for them or for any other builder. No customer reviews of them and no warranty terms appear here; have the warranty from whichever builder you pick written down before signing.

Compass and the builder are separate companies, and neither is part of the other. Boerne, where their office sits, is in Kendall County; weigh the drive to your lot yourself. Once a request lands, they might call, email, ask more about the land, or pass on the job. Those choices belong to them and to you. Nothing is contracted until you sign a contract.

Papers to ask a builder for

Of the papers below, this site holds one from the builder named above: the liability certificate, whose carrier, limits and end date are printed higher up. The others we do not hold or publish. Ask for every one of them on a building this size, whichever builder you sign with.

• A current general liability certificate, sent straight to you from the builder's insurance agent. Compass Camper LLC holds Suburban Buildings, LLC's certificate dated September 14, 2026; ask for your own copy anyway.
• An itemized estimate, on paper, before anyone starts work.
• A written contract covering how change orders are handled, with each payment tied to a stage that is done.
• Proof the project is on file with the state licensing and regulation department (TDLR), with accessibility plan review and inspection lined up, on any building other than a private residence whose estimated construction cost is $50,000 or higher.

• The warranty, written into the contract instead of promised out loud.

No license is on that list, because Texas issues no license to home builders or general contractors, and this site never claims a contractor holds one. Electricians, air conditioning contractors and plumbers are licensed by the state under programs of their own.

What gets published here

Two things. The main one is the permit path for a metal building in Bexar, Medina, Wilson, Atascosa, Guadalupe, Karnes and Frio counties: which office permits the building, where the TDLR registration line falls, when the Edwards Aquifer plan applies, and how stormwater coverage steps up by the acre, each checked at the agency's own page and dated. No contractor site in these counties lays that out. The second is a hand-off to one independent contractor when you want a building priced.
